This elegant vintage botanical print by Trowbridge features “Gladiolus × willmoreanus,” after the work of celebrated 19th century Belgian botanist and horticultural illustrator Louis van Houtte. Known for producing some of the finest botanical illustrations of the Victorian era, van Houtte combined scientific precision with remarkable artistic sensitivity, and this print beautifully captures the graceful structure and soft coloration of the gladiolus blooms. The composition has a refined, calming quality that makes it especially attractive as decorative wall art.

The print is presented in a striking custom frame that feels very reminiscent of Hollywood Regency style, with mirrored panels layered over a silver painted wood surround that gives the piece depth, glamour, and a sophisticated decorative presence.
