This beautifully crafted Stickley blanket chest was produced as part of the Harvey Ellis Millennium Edition collection, celebrating the enduring influence of one of the most admired designers associated with the American Arts & Crafts movement. Inspired by the clean architectural forms and refined proportions that defined Harvey Ellis’s work for Stickley around the turn of the 20th century, the chest combines simplicity, functionality, and exceptional craftsmanship in a way that feels every bit as relevant today as it did over a century ago. Its restrained design allows the beauty of the quarter sawn oak and the quality of construction to take center stage.

Crafted from richly figured oak, the chest showcases wonderful grain throughout, particularly across the broad paneled front and overhanging top. The subtle arch at the lower rail softens the rectilinear form beautifully, while the exposed joinery details reflect the honesty and craftsmanship central to the Arts & Crafts philosophy. The warm finish highlights the natural texture and movement of the oak and gives the piece a substantial yet welcoming presence. Pieces from the Harvey Ellis Millennium Edition are especially sought after for their faithful interpretation of original Stickley design principles combined with modern usability and quality construction.

The chest is in nice vintage condition with age-appropriate wear consistent with careful use. There is expected minor surface wear and light evidence of handling throughout. As noted, there are some minor irregularities to the finish on the top where it appears a candle was once placed, as pictured. Despite these small signs of use, the chest presents exceptionally well overall and remains sturdy, highly functional, and versatile, working beautifully as a blanket chest, storage piece, or statement accent within both traditional Arts & Crafts interiors and more contemporary homes seeking warmth and authenticity. 25h x 42w x 21d
