Federal Period Ladies Work Table c. 1820 sourced from a prominent Newport Rhode Island estate having great tapered legs with both ring and screw turnings resting on good brass casters. The top is crotch mahogany and the facade is covered in highly figured flame mahogany veneers. The original brass pulls feature a stylized floral design. The top two drawers are partitioned for sewing or needlework tools and the bottom drawer originally supported a satin bag that would have held pieces of fabric for the lady of the house' current project. 30h x 20w x 18d
