The group includes multiple Bushmasters insignia, distinctive 158th Infantry patches, Pacific Theater references, collar insignia, unit crests, qualification badges, campaign ribbons, veteran pins, and named post markers bearing Frank W. Slatcher’s name. Also included are campaign medals and ribbon bars associated with his service, along with a variety of unit and organizational items accumulated during and after the war. The collection presents beautifully as a visual display and provides exceptional research and interpretive potential for collectors of Pacific Theater and 158th Infantry material.
The collection is in nice vintage condition and displays well. Individual pieces exhibit varying degrees of age-related wear, oxidation, fraying, and handling consistent with age and military use. Several textile patches show expected wear and minor losses, while metal insignia retain attractive original surfaces and patina. Overall, this is a substantial and visually impressive attributed grouping that represents both the wartime service and veteran legacy of a member of one of the Pacific Theater’s most respected infantry regiments.
