This charming mid-19th century boudoir fluid lamp is attributed to the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company, one of America’s premier early glass manufacturers. Produced during the height of the fluid lamp era, these elegant lamps were designed to burn camphene or other fluid fuels before kerosene became the dominant household illuminant. Their compact size made them ideal for dressing tables, bedside stands, and writing desks, where they provided both practical illumination and refined decoration.

The lamp features a beautifully molded pressed glass base with a stepped square platform supporting a slender blown glass font. The crisp detailing of the base contrasts elegantly with the smooth, hand-blown reservoir above, creating a graceful silhouette characteristic of quality American glass from the period. It retains its original metal collar, adding to its authenticity and making it an excellent example for collectors of early American lighting or Victorian glass.

The lamp is in nice antique condition, consistent with age and normal use. It retains excellent clarity with expected light surface wear and minor manufacturing irregularities typical of mid-19th century glass. The original collar remains in place, and the lamp presents beautifully as a decorative object or as part of a collection of early American lighting. 9h x 3w x 3d
