A bold and historic trio of double-sided cardboard route signs from the Hartford, Connecticut trolley lines, dating to around the 1940s. This lot features the following routes:
• “EXPRESS FROM FULLER BRUSH” (red block lettering) paired with “EXPRESS TO FULLER BRUSH” on the reverse
• “NEWINGTON JUNCTION” paired with “OAKWOOD TO FLATBUSH”
• “STATION 19 HOCKANUM” paired with “PRATT & WHITNEY”

Printed in striking black and red block lettering on heavy card stock, these signs once served as the primary form of route identification on city trolleys. They exhibit charming evidence of age and use, including darkening, edge wear, staining, small tears, and puncture holes—particularly noticeable on the “STATION 19 HOCKANUM” and “PRATT & WHITNEY” panels. The red lettering of the “FULLER BRUSH” signs adds a dynamic touch and is uncommon among similar examples.

Condition is consistent with age and functional use in a municipal transit system. These signs make an excellent display grouping for collectors of transit memorabilia or Hartford history. 5 x 17
