This framed botanical print depicts Paeonia mas flore purpureo, a purple-flowered peony, alongside other plants, from Pierre Joseph Buchoz’s Histoire Universelle du Règne Végétal. Published in the late 18th century, Buchoz’s florilegia are highly regarded for their elegance, artistry, and contribution to the botanical sciences of the Enlightenment.

The vivid red-purple peony dominates the composition, complemented by finely rendered companion plants. The print is beautifully framed with a gilt and dark wood frame, accented by a linen mat, which highlights the richness of the image.

Condition is consistent with age and display use. The frame and mat show minor wear, while the print remains vibrant and clear. A striking botanical study, ready to hang and admired as both art and history. 19h x 16w x 2d
