The clock features a substantial slate case accented with gilt floral decoration and faux marble panels in warm red and cream tones that contrast beautifully against the dark body. The dial is fitted with Roman numerals and ornate hands surrounding the visible escapement mechanism at the center. The movement is an 8 day time and strike mechanism, designed to run for a full week between windings, and the overall proportions give the clock a strong decorative presence on a mantle, bookshelf, or sideboard.
The clock is in nice antique condition, with wear consistent with age and normal use. There are minor surface imperfections, light wear, and small losses to some of the gilt decoration as expected with a piece of this age. The movement appears complete, and both the pendulum and winding key are present, though the clock will require servicing before regular operation. Overall, it presents beautifully with rich antique character and a really great Victorian look. 9h x 13w x 6d
