A handsome mid-19th century Sheraton cookie-corner four drawer chest in mahogany, showing the lingering classical tendencies of the late Federal and Sheraton periods as they transitioned into the Victorian era. The case is distinguished by the characteristic incurved “cookie corner” top, reeded corner stiles, and elegant turned legs that lift the case lightly from the ground. The rich mahogany fronts display attractive figured grain and retain an inviting, warm patina that has developed beautifully over time.

The chest features four graduated drawers with oval brass pulls and brass escutcheons that complement the refined linear geometry of the case. The drawer blades and case framing exhibit the crisp proportions and visual restraint associated with Sheraton design, while the shaped apron adds a subtle flourish along the bottom edge.
