A striking late 18th century Queen Anne walnut chest on frame, likely of Irish origin, this piece beautifully showcases the bold grain and lively character that make Irish walnut furniture so desirable. The elevated form, set on a separate base, gives the chest a refined presence while maintaining a sense of lightness—an elegant solution that was both practical and visually appealing in period interiors.

The drawer fronts display exceptional figuring, with rich, swirling grain that creates a sense of movement across the facade. The configuration offers a pleasing rhythm, with smaller drawers above graduating to larger drawers below, all fitted with classic brass hardware that complements the warmth of the walnut. The base features a shaped apron and distinctive drake feet—an especially appealing detail—adding a touch of sculptural flair and regional character to the piece.
