This fine George III mahogany wardrobe and butler’s secretary, dating to the late 18th century, is an exceptional example of English craftsmanship. The piece features striking oval fan inlays on the upper cabinet doors, framed by satinwood and set against rich mahogany. A boldly carved cornice crowns the top, adding a strong architectural presence.

The interior of the butler’s secretary reveals a fitted writing compartment with a fall front desk, numerous small drawers, and letter slots, all adorned with contrasting inlays. The lower portion is arranged as a chest of drawers with original brass pulls, providing ample storage space. Behind the tall paneled doors are additional drawers and compartments, highlighting its dual function as both a wardrobe and a writing cabinet.

Condition is consistent with age and use. There are some minor veneer losses, wear to the finish as pictured, older repairs, and old drawer liners that would be difficult to remove. Despite these points, the piece remains sturdy, functional, and wonderfully presentable. A fine and rare example of period Georgian furniture, ideal for collectors or as a statement piece in a traditional interior. 75h x 46w x 22d
