Crafted from solid oak, the stool displays a beautifully sculpted saddle seat with exposed through-tenon joinery that celebrates the construction rather than concealing it—a hallmark of the Arts & Crafts aesthetic. Gracefully tapered cabriole-inspired legs and shaped aprons lend the piece an elegant lightness while maintaining excellent strength and stability. The warm oak has developed a rich, mellow patina over more than a century, highlighting the natural beauty of the wood grain and the skilled craftsmanship of its maker.
This footstool is in nice antique condition, showing expected surface wear, minor marks, and imperfections consistent with age and normal use. The sturdy frame remains solid, and the well-worn finish contributes to the authentic character collectors appreciate. A charming and increasingly desirable Arts & Crafts piece that is as useful today as when it was first made. 18h x 17w x 12d
